How hotel availability alerts work

Hotel Pounce checks supported partner inventory for the stay you define. When a matching bookable rate is detected and verified, it sends an email so you can decide whether to book.

The four-step alert workflow

  1. 1

    Search for a supported hotel

Choose a destination and travel dates, then select the specific property you want to monitor.

  2. 2

    Define a bookable match

Save your dates, occupancy, room count, optional room type, and optional maximum total-stay price.

  3. 3

    Let Hotel Pounce recheck

Automatic checks typically run about every six hours.

  4. 4

    Receive a verified email alert

Before an availability email is sent, Hotel Pounce re-verifies the matching offer. You then complete any booking with the provider.

What an availability result means

Hotel availability data is not binary. Hotel Pounce uses three states so provider failures do not become false sold-out claims.

StateWhat Hotel Pounce observedAlert effect
AvailableA matching live partner rate was returned. The exact offer is re-verified before email.
UnavailableA successful partner response returned no matching offer.Monitoring continues.
UnknownThe provider timed out, returned an error, or could not give a reliable verdict. No availability claim or email is produced.

Hotel Pounce checks supported partner inventory. A missing partner rate does not prove that a hotel itself is sold out, and availability can change before you book.

How often are hotels checked?

Automatic checks typically run about every six hours. A registered user can also request an immediate check from an alert. Hotel Pounce does not claim to see a hotel's inventory change the instant it happens.

Are the alerts instant?

Email dispatch begins after a scheduled or manual check detects and verifies a match. The delay between the hotel changing inventory and Hotel Pounce seeing it depends on check timing and provider availability.

What can an alert match?

A specific hotel, dates, guests, rooms, a selected room type, and an optional maximum total-stay price. Each account has 10 alert slots for active, paused, and fulfilled alerts that have not expired.

Which notification channels work?

Email alerts are available in the current beta. SMS is marked coming soon and should not be relied on today.
