Hotel availability basics

What is a hotel availability alert?

A hotel availability alert monitors a specific hotel stay and notifies you after matching bookable inventory appears. Hotel Pounce checks supported partner inventory so you do not have to keep searching manually.

Do rooms ever become available after a hotel looks sold out?

Yes. Bookable inventory can return after a cancellation, a new room release, a changed length-of-stay rule, or another inventory update. A returned rate can disappear again quickly.

Does “no partner rate” mean the hotel is completely sold out?

No. It means Hotel Pounce did not receive a bookable rate from the supported partner source for that search. A hotel may have inventory through a direct channel or another provider that Hotel Pounce cannot see.

Is a hotel cancellation alert different from an availability alert?

A cancellation may cause a room to return, but Hotel Pounce observes bookable availability rather than the cause of the change. An alert cannot prove that a specific guest canceled.

Using Hotel Pounce

How do I create an alert?

Create an account, search for a supported hotel and dates, choose the property, and save the room, occupancy, and optional price preferences you want monitored.

What can an alert track?

An alert includes one hotel, check-in and check-out dates, guest count, room count, an optional room type, and an optional maximum total-stay price.

How many hotels can I monitor?

An account has 10 slots for alerts that have not expired. Active, paused, and fulfilled alerts count toward the limit, and each alert watches one hotel stay.

Can I run a check myself?

Yes. In addition to scheduled checks, a registered user can request an immediate availability check from an alert.

Timing and notifications

How often does Hotel Pounce check availability?

Automatic checks typically run about every six hours.

Are Hotel Pounce alerts instant?

Email dispatch begins after a scheduled or manual check detects and verifies a matching rate. Hotel Pounce does not see the hotel inventory change the instant it happens, so detection time depends on check timing and provider availability.

Will I receive email or SMS?

Email alerts are available in the current beta. SMS is marked coming soon and is not currently a supported notification channel.

Will Hotel Pounce email me repeatedly for the same room?

Alerts are designed around a change to verified availability, with cooldown and pause controls that limit repeated notifications. You can pause, resume, edit, or delete an alert from your account.

Pricing, booking, and guarantees

Is Hotel Pounce free?

Hotel Pounce costs $0 during the current early beta. Current limits and future pricing changes are published on the pricing page.

How does a maximum-price alert work?

The optional maximum price applies to the total stay and all requested rooms in the currency saved with the alert. A rate must be bookable and at or below that cap before it qualifies.

Does Hotel Pounce book or hold the room?

No. Hotel Pounce is an alerting service. You complete any reservation with the hotel or booking provider, and inventory may change before you finish.

Does an alert guarantee I will get a room?

No. An alert reports a matching rate that was verified at that moment. It cannot hold the room, guarantee provider checkout, or guarantee that another traveler will not book first.
